Artes Mundi Prize 2008 - Invitation to Nominate

Following the success of the Artes Mundi Prize in 2004 and 2006, we are now inviting nominations of artists to be considered for the shortlist in 2008. In 2006 more than 200 artists were nominated from 60 countries around the globe. For the next event we are hoping to spread the net even wider. Please help us to achieve this aim by sending your nomination for one or more artists who you think should be considered for Artes Mundi 2008.

As before, eligible artists will be concerned with ideas of the human form or human condition and produce work which adds to our understanding of humanity.

Nominated artists can be of any age, and living or working anywhere in the world.

There are two criteria :

  • artists who have achieved recognition for the quality of their work in their own country or sphere and are emerging internationally, and

  • artists who in their work discuss the human form, the human condition and add to our understanding of humanity.
